Statement of Intent
Under the Health & Safety at work act 1974, the management of Health & Safety at work Regulations 1999 & associated protective legislation, DHG SERVICES, as a company, has duties in respect of health, safety & welfare.
DHG SERVICES recognises these responsibilities & undertakes to implement all measures that are reasonably practicable to:
- Ensure the health, safety and welfare of all persons at work.*
- Protect the general public from risks to health & safety arising from the companys activities.
In this regard, management will provide the necessary resources & seek the cooperation of all employees.
In order to comply with this statutary duty DHG SERVICES will:
- Define the responsibilities relating to health & safety for all persons at work.
- Promote joint consultation & employee involvment in health & safety at work
- Provide information & instruction as necessary to ensure the health & safety at work of its employees, to comply with health & safety legislation & regulations; & to promote awareness & understanding of health & safety throughout the workforce.
- Provide & maintain safe systems of work and a safe & healthy working enviroment
- Ensure safety & absence of health risks in connnection with use, handling, storage & transport of articles, equipment, materials & substances.
- Provide adequate arrangements for welfare of persons at work.
- Carry out risk assessments to identify any hazards and bring the attention of these hazards & any precautionary measures to the attention of persons at work
- Record & investigate accidents & incidences of occupational ill health
- Moniter health & safety on a regular basis
- Provide & maintain appropriate personel protective equipment where necessary.
- Review this statement of Health & Safety Policy regularly and when necessary due to changes in legislation, work practices & systems, articles & substances used in the workplace.
Organisation & arrangements for implementing the Health & Safety Policy
- Ultimate responsibility, for the health & safety of all persons at work, lies with the manager, Daryn Godfrey.
- The manager has responsibility for ensuring that DHG SERVICES complies with all legal & regulatory requirements in relation to health & safety & implementing any guidance as far as is reasonably practicable.
- The manager is responible for identifying & fulfilling the training & information needs of persons at work in regard to health & safety.
- The manager will ensure that there is an effective system for joint consultation with employees on health & safety issues.
- Safe systems at work will be designed & documentated by management.
- The manager will ensure tha there is an effective system for reporting, recording & investigating accidents. The system will comply with legal requirments.
- First aid facilities will be provided.
- Managment will ensure that all tools (particulary high risk equipment such as ladders & other access equipment) is used in such a manner so as to comply with specific health & safety regulations & legal requirements.
- Management will ensure that vulnerable staff are adequately supervised to prevent, as far as reasonably practicable, risk of injury or ill health.
*Throughout this statement, "all persons at work" includes managers, employees, sub contractors & their staff and any other person visiting the place of work.
